It is nice to see who my char got based on. To me grapplings biggest flaws are the time it takes to subdue someone, and the inability to restrain someone on their own. Maybe make it so headlock allows you to restrain or make a phone call?

It's funny, I just had the same conversation the other day with a buddy about these exact points.

Hindsight being 20/20, I think this was old rules being "nerfed" to avoid the old grappler overkill characters that some of the extremely old school players (as in over 10 years ago) used to play. The old rules went along the lines of after a successful grapple was made the char being grappled had one shot at an opposed str check. If that failed they were subdued and the next round the Shammas (this was the char I was talking about) could make as many "bite" attacks as they could in the round. Needless to say many npc's and pc's died at the hands of the "unstoppable" grappler eating characters.

Along that line of thought, I think a few more area's were also nerfed with they idea of play balance being restored. The Aets and Sorc being prime examples.

In the past we had players that really tested the old Rules Guru's resolve. I might have been apart of that :D . Everything that has been done so far was for a reason although it may be hard to remember that now.

With that I need to also say that there is nothing wrong with that. Games get "re-balanced" all the time. I know that a lot of what I've pointed out is already on the docket for a review and examination eventually to see if it needs to be tweaked again.

if I ever decide to try a grappler I will let you know..have a bit of XP to spend..but dislike all the damn math..math bad

also not sure on words of power...need to read up on them but are the a mental attack or a willpower feat?

cause that would bypass the 15 defense the grappler has

Yes WOP bypasses the 15 defense but faces the 7 willpower for resistance because words of power fall under the catagory of a command power, this character isn't unstoppable, far from it really, but it's designed to be tough and capable of dealing with mentalist commands taking him over.

NO! Don't bother shaking it down again. Publish sooner! Fix later!

Hopefully SiS doesn't follow DnD's business model. Are we telling them how to run their business now?

They seem to be doing pretty darn good D&D that is

I would just be nice to have a full system so we can start running non sanctioned events and also so that players can buy the real thing and not previews.

Matt, myself and many others have been waiting over like 10 years lol

We know it will happen....we just want it before we get to be like 70 :)

I understand and agree, but it doesn't sound like a rules discussion to me.

You can run non-sanctioned events right now. I do.
